The dragon is a mythical creature that appears in many East Asian cultures. Depicted as a long, snake-like creature with four claws, it has long been a potent symbol of auspicious power in Chinese folklore and art. The dragon is also the embodiment of the concept of yang (male) and associated with the weather as the harbinger of rain and water believed to be the rulers of moving bodies of water, such as waterfalls, rivers, or seas. They can show themselves as water spouts (tornado or twister over water). Many Chinese people often use the term "Descendants of the Dragon" as a sign of ethnic identity.
