Calligraphy and brush is a highly refined and very ancient art form in the Orient. This original set of four silk wall scrolls are handpainted and depict the cherry blossom which is an omen of good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents spring. Cherry blossoms are an enduring metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life, and as such are frequently depicted in art. Bamboo represents symbols of happiness and wholeness and fish in Japan represent abundance, fertility and prosperity. Each wall scroll is mounted on a sage green brocade silk paper and measure 12" wide and 29" in length.
