Shrouded in mystery for centuries, the Tibetan singing bowl is believed to be a powerful healing tool and is used in meditation, yoga, therapy, and personal enjoyment. Singing bowls produce a resonate, warm tone when struck with a wooden mallet. They can also be played by slowly rubbing a wooden mallet around the rim to produce a continuous 'singing' sound. This intricately engraved singing bowl is handcrafted by monks in Nepal. This bowl features Tibetan Buddhist symbols etched on the sides. Composed of seven metals, each represents planetary alignment; the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, and Saturn. Five Buddha reliefs are raised on the inside bottom of the bowl. The actual size may vary slightly, due to the hand-made process. This exquisite singing bowl measures approximately 5 1/2" in diameter and 3" tall. and weighs 2 1/4 lbs. This set includes a wooden mallet and sage green, silk dragon brocade pillow.
