THREE EASY METHODS TO ORDER

ORDER ON LINE

You may place your order online through our secure website. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal. We take credit card security seriously and require a matching verification of your billing address and security code before we can process your order. Orders submitted with invalid billing information and subsequently cancelled may be subject to a 6% handling fee.

ORDER BY TELEPHONE

You may also place your order by phone by contacting our customer service staff at 720-870-5666 Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (MST). If your phone order request is after hours, you may leave a message and we will call you back the next business day. Please do not provide credit card information via email or voicemail.

MAIL ORDER

We accept checks and money orders for mail orders. Your order will be shipped when your payment clears. If you have questions about the total amount, including sales tax (Colorado residents only) and shipping costs, please contact our customer service department by email at japanarts@yahoo.com or call us at 303-_________ before sending in your payment.


SHIPPING AND RECEIVING

We ship most items via US Priority Mail or FedEx Ground. We strive to fulfill order requests within 48 hours, unless otherwise noted on our website. Allow extra shipping time for Tatami Mats, Shoji Doors and Screens, and large freight items. If an item is out of stock, or there is a delay in shipping your order, you will receive a notification by email or phone. When your package ships, we will send you an email with the carrier and tracking information.

International orders: For international orders, you may request a shipping quote before placing your order. We respond to all shipping quotes within 24 hours (Holidays and weekends excluded). Please email us at japanarts@yahoo.com and include the following information: the specific items you are interested in, the quantity, your city, state or country, your postal code and whether it will be delivered to a business or a residence. We will respond to your inquiry with the cost for shipping/freight and the estimated transit time. If you place your order on line, we will email the shipping costs. We ask for approval via email prior to processing your order.

Please note: All duties, taxes, customs fees and brokerage charges are the sole responsibility of the customer and are not included in the shipping cost. We are unable to quote or estimate these charges as fees vary by individual country. You may contact your local government to determine what charges may be due. By placing your order, you agree to be responsible for all charges and authorize us to collect any unpaid fees / charges at a later date.

EXPRESS DELIVERY

Express orders placed by 1 PM (MST), can usually be shipped the same day. Express orders placed after 1 PM (MST), will be processed the following business day and will arrive within 2 business days. If you need your order by a certain date or next day, please contact Customer Service at 720-870-5666 to ensure the items are in stock. We will make every attempt to accommodate your needs. Additional fees apply for Next Day Express orders.


RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY

The staff at Japan-Arts is confident that you will enjoy our high quality products. If you are not satisfied with any item, you may return or exchange it within 10 days of receipt of the item(s). For a return or exchange, please contact Customer Service by email at japanarts@yahoo.com or call us at 720-870-5666 to obtain a return authorization number. Products must be returned in “new” condition and with the original packaging. Orders returned without an authorization number will be refused. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We are unable to reimburse you for shipping costs. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items for return or exchange. We recommend that you insure your shipment. We do not accept COD or packages marked “bill recipient”.

Refunds will be processed, less the original shipping and handling costs. Items returned without original packaging or in “used” condition, may be refused and/or subject to a restocking fee up to 30%. We are unable to accept any returns after 30 days and sales are final. Closeouts and Clearance Merchandise sales are final and no returns are accepted.

The following items are non-refundable: Books, CD’s, incense, Tatami mats, comforters, special orders, closeout items and clearance merchandise.

ORDER CANCELLATION

There will be a 6% fee for processing cancelled orders.

DAMAGED MERCHANDISE

Claims for damaged merchandise must be reported within 48 hours of receipt, no exceptions allowed. If your merchandise arrives damaged, please have the driver notate on the delivery receipt any tears, crushed cartons, or other visible damage to the product. Signing for the delivery without notating damage, indicates you have “received the delivery in good condition”, and you will be unable to file a claim. Please retain the original packing materials and contact us within 48 hours at 720-870-5666 or email us at japanarts@yahoo.com. In order to file a claim with the carrier, we will require photographs of the box, packing materials and the damaged item. If you are unable to provide photographs, a claim will automatically be denied.

An important note about our hand crafted products including tables, bed frames, shoji doors, shoji screens, and furniture. We make every effort to accurately display items on our website, however, please note that many of our items are hand-crafted and hand painted, and minor artistic differences may occur. The finish may show slight imperfections from the manufacturing process or from the natural wood grain and finish. The colors of the products shown on this website may also vary depending on your computer monitor resolution and we cannot guarantee the monitor’s display of color will be accurate. It is recommended that you review the dimensions of the product carefully as it can sometimes be difficult to capture size and scale accurately in photos.

FREIGHT SHIPMENTS

Great care is taken to pack and protect your products for freight shipping. The freight environment can be rough and some shipments will show signs of wear during transport. Very small scratches, small wood nail holes and/or very minor dents are generally the result of handcrafted manufacturing standards. Most of these minor issues can be easily remedied with wood oil, touch-up paint or stain. Tatami mats may arrive with some dents but can be reshaped, as they are a natural grass product.


WAIVER OF FREIGHT DAMAGE LIABILITY

Most large items such as tatami mats; bed frames, furniture and shoji door kits are shipped via Freight Truck. Standard freight delivery is curbside only. Your shipment will need to be broken down and removed from the truck. All items are individually boxed and generally, no more than 50-100 lbs per box (Some exceptions apply). Drivers are unable to assist with transporting boxes into your home, to unpack, install or assemble your furniture. If you require a lift gate, this is available at an additional cost of $100.00 and is not included in standard freight shipping costs. You must request and prepay for this service at the time of the order.

When you receive your order confirmation, please review it carefully to ensure your shipping address and phone number are correct. If you see an error, please contact us immediately.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery of your products. At the time the merchandise is shipped, you will receive an email with the carrier and the tracking information. For residential deliveries, you may contact the freight carrier with your tracking number to arrange an appointment window for delivery.

An adult must be present at the time of delivery to accept, sign and receive the shipment.

IMPORTANT NOTICE BEFORE SIGNING FOR RECEIPT OF DELIVERY:

Please carefully inspect the outside of all boxes and note any crushing, tearing, punctures or visible damage to your shipment. You must notate any damage or potential damage on BOTH copies of the delivery receipt. This notation provides documentation and proof that damage may have occurred during transit. It is necessary to verify that you are receiving and accepting the same number of boxes that were shipped according to the delivery receipt. Notate any shortage or variance in the number displayed versus the number of cartons delivered. Verbal statements by the driver are not valid and will not be accepted if a claim is filed. All discrepancies must be in writing on the delivery receipt. Please note if the plastic shrink-wrap is broken at the time of delivery.

To guarantee that your shipment has no concealed damage on boxes that are suspect, you are encouraged to open boxes while the driver is there, if time permits. Make sure you note in detail, any damage discovered directly on your shipping receipt. Freight companies will rarely honor a claim if damage is not noted on the delivery receipt.

If damage is discovered after opening the boxes, please contact us within 48 hours and we will assist you in filing a claim. The carrier will require photographs of the damage and the packaging so please retain all packing materials and boxes for inspection and further review. Claims for concealed damage must occur within 2 days of receipt. If you are not planning to install or assemble your merchandise right away, it is very important that you open and inspect your merchandise as soon as you receive it. We cannot file a claim or accept a claim for damage if it is reported after 48 hours of receipt.


WARRANTY

Japan-Arts warrants that all products are free of manufacturing defects for 30 days from the date of purchase. Zen Clocks and Time Pieces have a one-year manufacturer warranty with free technical support. If you have any questions about the operation of your Zen Clock after purchase, or if a problem arises, please contact the manufacturer directly at 1-800-779-6383 or via email at sales@now-zen.com. Please refer to your warranty card included with each clock for further information.


LEGAL NOTICE

Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Japan-Arts harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, cost and expenses, including attorney’s fees, arising fro or related to your use of this site. Japan-Arts reserves the right to refuse service at any time. Products subject to availability and prices are subject to change without notice. The web posted price is guaranteed at the time of purchase only. Liability will be limited to the purchase price of any product, excluding all or any shipping costs involved.
